This pattern is 11″ wide with no repeats. It has 4 panels of 3′ each and includes the following designs: Insects, Vulture, Porcupine, Warthog, Spotted Hyena, Baboon, Springbok, Thompson’s Gazelle, Cheetah, Zebra, Crocodile, Lion, Lioness and Cubs, Giraffe, Hippo, and Elephant. There is also a smaller 6″ version called – Safari Border.

With Lyon for a name, it’s no surprise I would lean toward African animals, but, in truth, I made my first Lion quilt long before I met my husband. AND I quilted it on my sewing machine! (Maybe it was a sign.) I come from a long line of quilters so I grew up playing under quilts stretched out in the front room. Even though I learned to hand quilt, even as early as high school age I was busy and looking for faster ways to accomplish my goals. I guess all of us “Machine Quilters” are that way. Aren’t we?
