Description
Can you tell I love the richness of decoration in the Orient? Besides, although I’ve visited other areas of the world, I’ve lived in the orient! Good friends and memories are there. So, as I was planning yet another Asian themed quilt, I realized the elephant borders I have are, really, African elephants. Not that anyone would notice on a quilt, but I wanted to make it right. The easiest way to do that was lift the elephant from the Oriental Clamshells and connect him to his brother’s tail. Then turn him into a PDF for inexpensive and easy use. You can’t beat that!
This paper pattern travels from Thailand to the right 6 feet – “Going to Cambodia,” and the other half from Thailand to the left 6 feet – “Going to Burma.” The PDF is 6″ wide and can extend as long as you want to make it! I also used it for a block!
It will look great as a border for Gulf of Siam and Thai Sky and Lotus Blossom and even a clammy quilt of Oriental Clamshells. Chintz and Paisley are also Oriental designs but not many realize it.
