Description
Laguna de Cancun 5″ roll pattern with 2″ Mayan Wave sashing
Laguna de Cancun comes from the Izapa Stele #25 with addition of a fish design from a pottery artifact and a turtle from Mayan hieroglyphs. Just like hotel murals on the Mayan Riviera, these stylized fish swim directly out of the Izapa Stele #25. Even the waves are part of the original design chiseled hundreds of years ago in Central America. Inspiration from a long pottery fish and hieroglyph turtle add variety to this easy pattern.
With Laguna de Cancun comes Mayan Wave, a flowing textile design found on painted vases and architectural trim of the period.
