Description
Great for Modern quilts. It would make an amazing border as well as an Edge 2 Edge pattern. I love finding inspiration in the folk art of cultures around the world. This stylized design is reminiscent of the Aboriginal designs of Australia.
The Billabong (you may recognize it from the song “Waltzing Matilda”) is a water hole left by a receding river. And yes! there is a Billabong Creek in NSW.
This pattern runs lines all the way across and all the way back. (11″ x 144″) It would also be easy to separate the 2 sections, using just one or the other for a 6″ border or Edge to Edge.
You might also like the woven version called Wallaby Weave. Other patterns in this series are Didgeridoo, Aborigine, Kangaroos, and Down Under 6″ or 11″.
